"Your future self already made it."

đź–¤ From Jen: Your Future Self is Already Proud.
Hi BEAUTISTA fam.
It’s been one of those weeks. The kind where you’re moving so fast, feeling overwhelmed -  that I literally looked at my kids’ principal and said, “Have a nice weekend!” …it was TUESDAY. đź« Â
I was feeling overwhelmed and stressed and started scrolling. The people I follow on social are my “go-to” voices, my gurus… and I came across a post that made me remember. One of those reminders that shows up right when you need it. The universe has a funny way of communicating when you can see it.Â
It said: "There's a future version of you, looking back at this exact moment with so much love for how hard you kept trusting."
It brought me back to something I used to do all the time. I would picture an older version of me. Not older in age… but the version who already figured it out. The one who already got through the hard seasons. The one who became who I was trying to become. And I’d ask—what would she say to me right now?
Because when you’re in it… when things feel uncertain or just a lot… your brain goes to doubt real fast. Am I doing the right thing? Is this even going to work? But that older version of you? She doesn’t think like that. She already knows how this plays out. And she is so damn proud of you.
Then on my morning workout, I heard this on the podcast I was listening to: “To receive what you’ve never had, you must become who you’ve never been.” The only way to describe what I felt in that moment is an emoji. 🤯
And instead of just thinking about becoming… I started thinking about the choices we make every day that define who we are and who we become. What if I stopped reacting as the version of me in the middle of the chaos… and started deciding as the version of me who already figured it out?Â
Because you don’t magically become someone new one day. You make decisions like that person… before you feel like them. You choose to show up. You choose to keep going. You choose not to shrink when things feel uncomfortable. And over time… that becomes who you are.
At the same time, there’s a version of you who already walked through this. Who already figured it out. Who already became that next level version of you. And she’s not judging how messy it feels right now. She’s proud of you for staying in it.Â
So if you’re in one of those weeks… where it feels like a lot, where you’re stretching, where you’re not quite there yet… Try this - Make one decision today as your future self. Not the overwhelmed version. Not the unsure version. The version who already did it and is looking back. And when you do that enough… you realize you’re not chasing that version of you anymore. You realize... YOU ARE HER.
xoxo

🚀 The Shift: Weekly Mindset + Strategy Upgrade.
2-minute conversation with your future self
When things feel like a lot or I’m stuck on a decision… I talk to my older self.
The version of me who already went through this. Already figured it out. Already made it to the other side.
So try this:
Picture your older self
The version of you who already lived through what you’re in right now
Ask her: “What would you tell me to do?”Â
Not what you feel like doing… what she would say
Listen for the Answer
Sometimes is action. Sometimes its "keep going." Sometimes its just "You're ok - You've Got this!"
And then… trust it.
Because sometimes it’s not about doing more. It’s about trusting you’re in it, you’re learning, and you’re going to come out the other side stronger.
🎙️ In Case You Missed It (ICYMI)

If you missed it this week… there was a LOT happening—and a clear pattern in what’s getting attention right now.
👉 Higher-value services
👉 Specialization
👉 Doing more with the clients you already have
Here’s what stood out:
Grey is no longer something to “cover”
The Tech Talk Masterclass with Jack Martin is shifting the conversation. French blending isn’t about hiding grey—it’s about creating a low-maintenance, luxury experience clients are actually asking for.
Glossing = hidden revenue
Shades EQ Pro Connect keeps showing up for a reason. Seamless glossing isn’t just a finish—it’s an add-on that elevates every service and increases ticket without adding time.
Curls are still a massive opportunity
From Mizani to Amika to Ashtae… texture education is everywhere right now. The demand is there—the question is who’s going to step into it and become the go-to.
Bridal is a business, not a side hustle
Pureology’s bridal class is a reminder that one niche—done right—can completely change your income.
(And if you’re a salon owner or educator—send your team. One class can shift performance fast.)
đź’» Tech-Forward:
Where tech meets beauty (and your next big move begins).
Tony Robbins just hosted an AI event and the biggest takeaway wasn’t about tools—it was about leverage. Not doing more, not posting more… but multiplying yourself. The people pulling ahead aren’t just using AI to create—they’re training it to think like them so they don’t have to start from scratch every time.
Here’s how you actually do that:
Feed it your voice
Copy and paste 3–5 things you’ve already written—captions, client messages, how you explain a service. Then say: “This is how I talk. Learn my tone and write like me.” Now it has a reference point
Give it context before the task
Instead of “write a caption,” say: “I’m a stylist who specializes in low-maintenance blondes. My clients are busy and don’t want to be in the salon every 4 weeks. Write this like I’m talking to them.” The more specific you are, the better it gets
Turn real moments into repeatable prompts
Take something you say all the time—consultations, pricing, aftercare—and turn it into a prompt: “Here’s how I explain balayage to clients. Rewrite this for social media / a DM / a text.” Now you’re reusing your thinking instead of recreating it
Refine it once, reuse it forever
When it gives you something close, don’t start over. Edit it and say: “This is better—keep this tone going forward.” You’re training it every time you correct it
That’s the shift. AI isn’t here to replace what you do—it’s here to learn how you do it so you can move faster without losing your voice.

What we're learning from Hiring  Funnels:Â
The funnel doesn't just fill — it compounds.
Most salon owners think about hiring like posting a job. You put something up, people apply, you pick one, done. The mental model is linear: more posts = more applicants = more hires.
What we're actually seeing is different.
One of our active campaigns just hit its seventh week. At week four, the campaign had generated 63 conversations and delivered 4 candidates. Three weeks later — same campaign, same market, same salon — the funnel had grown to 99 total conversations and 8 candidates delivered. Not double the time, double the output.
The conversion rate per conversation improved too. The team learned which messaging landed, which candidates were serious, and what questions to ask earlier to filter for real intent. The campaign didn't just grow — it got smarter.
This is the part passive hiring platforms can't replicate. When you post a job and wait, you get a snapshot of whoever happened to be looking that day. When you run an active funnel over time, you build a pipeline. Some candidates aren't ready on day one — they have circumstances, a lease ending, a situation wrapping up. One campaign this week had three candidates who were genuinely interested but navigating personal timing. Those relationships were maintained. That's not a loss — that's inventory for the next wave.
The question isn't just "are you getting applicants?" It's "are you building a pipeline, or just reacting to one?"
🔥 What’s Happening:
Virtual Live Events You Don’t Want to Miss

Next Live Virtual Classes
There’s a big theme this week… and if you pay attention, it tells you exactly where the industry is going.
👉 Social = business
👉 Specialization = growth
👉 Education = leverage
Here’s what to watch:
Turn your content into clients
Apr 27, 7:30 AM EDT
L’Oréal Professionnel is streaming a Masterclass from Paris focused on using TikTok and Instagram to actually drive bookings—not just build a portfolio. If you’ve been posting without seeing real return… this is the shift.
Blonding that looks high-end but works smarter
Apr 27, 11:00 AM EDT
Redken’s Global Masterclass with Patricia Nikole is all about dimensional, lived-in blondes that are efficient behind the chair but still premium in result.
Repair isn’t an add-on anymore
Apr 27, 1:00 PM EDT
K18 is showing how to integrate repair into every service so you’re increasing results and retail without adding time.
Scalp care is becoming a real category
Apr 28, 11:00 AM EDT
Biolage is leaning into scalp certifications—because clients are asking more questions here, and the pros who can answer them are building trust fast.
If you zoom out, this is what’s happening:
Less “just do the service”
More intention behind every appointment
More value
More education
More strategy
This is where the industry is going: less maintenance, more artistry, higher ticket services
(And if you’re reading this as a salon owner or educator — send your team. One class can shift an entire culture.)

Rowan Victorson | Denton, TX
Esthi | Ogle School Denton
Some people are still figuring out if this industry is for them, and then there are people like Rowan. You can feel it right away—this isn’t just something she’s learning… it’s something she believes in.
“Blooming beauty starts from within.” That line alone tells you everything.
Rowan Victorson, an esthetics student at Ogle School in Denton, TX, isn’t just focused on treatments or techniques—she’s focused on how people feel. Skin health, self-care, confidence… it’s all connected for her. And that kind of perspective this early on? That’s what sets people apart.
She’s showing up with intention. 99% attendance, a 91 GPA, and already thinking beyond the basics—about experience, connection, and what it actually means to take care of a client.
What really stands out is her mindset. She’s not waiting until she graduates to start. She’s already building her brand, already thinking about her future clients, already stepping into the professional she’s becoming.
That’s the difference. The people who grow in this industry aren’t the ones who wait until they feel ready… they’re the ones who start showing up as that person early.
