The tiny things we hold… that quietly drain everything.

“It’s not the weight you carry, but how long you carry it.."

🖤 From Jen: Let Go of the Glass.

Hey BEAUTISTA Fam,

My IG algorithm really knows me - its scary LOL. I was scrolling and saw this video - where a professor held up a glass of water and he asks his students, "how heavy do you think this glass is?"

The students shouted out numbers —"a few ounces, half a pound, a pound." He then said, "The weight doesn’t matter. What matters is how long one holds it. A minute? No problem. An hour? your arm would ache. All day? It would go numb. The glass never changes — but the longer you hold it, the heavier it becomes."

What a cool way to show that we all carry things we think are so little.... but over time those little things become heavy. Individually, the small things  don't weigh much - But held long enough? They drain us — our energy, our confidence, our joy, our creativity. And we wonder why we’re tired, stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected, doubting ourselves. It’s not because the glass is heavy. It’s because we’ve been gripping it for too long.

So this week I’m asking myself — and you — a simple question: What glass am I still holding that I can finally set down? What old thought? What fear? What expectation? What pressure or resentment or “should” that I’ve been carrying far longer than it deserves?

You don’t earn extra points for holding pain longer than necessary. You don’t grow by white-knuckling things that drain you. You grow by making room for what’s next — and that only happens when your hands, your energy, your attention, your heart… aren’t full of what you no longer need to carry.

Put the glass down. Feel the relief. Let your arm rest. You’ll be amazed at how much lighter everything feels when you finally stop carrying what was never meant to be held forever.

xoxo

🚀 The Shift: Weekly Mindset + Strategy Upgrade.

The 3-Minute Reset

Every night this week, give yourself three quiet minutes — nothing fancy, just a pause — and ask yourself one grounding question:

“What did I carry today that wasn’t mine?”

Was it someone else’s urgency?

Someone’s mood or energy?

A comment that stuck longer than it should have?

An expectation you didn’t choose?

A pressure you picked up without noticing?

Whatever it was… let it go. You don’t have to grip what doesn’t belong to you. Release it. Return to yourself. Start tomorrow lighter than you ended today. This tiny reset does more for your clarity and creativity than people realize — because when you stop carrying what’s not yours, you finally have room to carry what is.

How do you actually let it go?

Try one of these — they all work because they give your brain a place to put what you’ve been carrying:

✨ 1. The Vanish TechniquePicture the thing you’re holding — the thought, fear, comment, pressure — and imagine it dissolving like steam in the air. Not forced… just gone. Your brain loves closure like that.

✨ 2. The Box MethodMentally set the thing in a small box, close the lid, and imagine handing it back to whoever it belongs to… or placing it on a shelf you’ll never reopen.(You’ll be shocked at how fast your body relaxes.)

✨ 3. The Walk-Away TrickImagine setting the thought down on a bench… and walking away from it. Watch yourself get smaller in the distance while it stays behind, powerless.

✨ 4. The Boundary BreathOn the inhale: “This is mine.”On the exhale: “This is not.”Let the exhale release what doesn’t belong to you.

✨ 5. The RewriteTurn the “heavy” thought into a new sentence that frees you.“I’m behind” becomes “I’m learning.”“I messed that up” becomes “I’m improving.”“I should be further” becomes “I’m right on time.”

💻 Tech-Forward:

Where tech meets beauty (and your next big move begins).

Auto-Resume Generator for Pros (a shameless plug… but worth it 😉)

This week felt like the perfect time to highlight a tool inside BEAUTISTA that so many pros still don’t realize exists — and honestly, it’s one of my favorites.

You know how resumes feel outdated, stressful, and… kind of pointless?

Well, here’s the good news:

Your BEAUTISTA portfolio now auto-generates your resume for you.

Yep. No formatting. No Googling “free resume template.” No wrestling with Word. No “I’ll do it later” procrastination spiral.

Just one click — and your entire body of work, your story, your education, your specialties, your images, your achievements — all roll into a clean, modern, professional resume.

Why this matters:

✔️ Pros stop getting stuck on the resume stepMost don’t apply to opportunities because making a resume feels overwhelming. Now it’s done for them.

✔️ It keeps everything consistentYour BEAUTISTA portfolio is your brand. Your resume should match it.

✔️ You can use it anywhereEven if a business isn’t on BEAUTISTA yet, you still look polished and legit when you send your BEAUTISTA resume.

And truthfully… a lot of owners tell us they look at the portfolio first anyway. The resume is just the formality.

So if you’ve been waiting to apply for something because your resume isn’t “ready,” here’s your sign:

Let the tech do the heavy lifting. You just show up and shine.

What we're learning from Hiring  Funnels:

Pay Transparency as the New “First Question.”

Why Pros Ask About Pay First (and Why That’s a GOOD Sign)**

We’ve had a front-row seat to thousands of hiring conversations this year — especially through BEAUTISTA Premium, where our team acts as the recruiting agency for salons and spas across the country.

And there’s a pattern we’re seeing over and over: One of the first questions pros ask when they’re interested in an opportunity is… "What’s the commission structure?”

A lot of owners hear that and think: “Wait, does nobody care about culture anymore?” “Are people just chasing money now?” But here’s the truth — and it’s way more encouraging:

They ask about pay BECAUSE the culture already resonated.

This is the part most owners miss. Pay isn’t their starting question. Pay becomes their next question because BEAUTISTA already answered everything human first:

  • Who you are

  • What you stand for

  • What your vibe is

  • Whether they feel safe

  • Whether there’s growth

  • Whether you show up like real humans

Traditional job boards never give pros any of that — so they stay at the top of the funnel, unsure, disconnected, hesitant. But BEAUTISTA humanizes you so well that pros move through the first 4–5 steps of the decision-making process before they ever reach out. So their first outward question looks like logistics — not because culture doesn't matter, but because BEAUTISTA already handled that part.

Here’s the real Decision making Funnel pros move through on BEAUTISTA:

  1. Identity — “Do I connect with who they are?”

  2. Alignment — “Do their values + energy match what I want?”

  3. Opportunity — “Is this the kind of career path I’m looking for?”

  4. Safety + Trust — “Do I feel comfortable enough to reach out?”

  5. Structure“Okay, what’s the commission / schedule / pay model?”

  6. Action — Apply, visit, interview.

Asking about pay means they’re already at Step 5. They’re serious. They’re invested. They’re imagining themselves there. It’s not a red flag — it’s momentum.

And here’s another shift we’re seeing:

Once pros feel aligned with your culture, they don’t want to waste your time or theirs. They cut right to the clarity question so they can decide whether to move forward. It’s efficient. It’s confident. It’s the behavior of someone who is genuinely considering your business.

Bottom line:

If a stylist’s very first question is “What’s the commission structure?” …it’s probably because the real first questions — the human ones — have already been answered. And that means your BEAUTISTA page is doing exactly what it’s meant to do: attract aligned people, build trust fast, and move serious candidates down the hiring funnel.

Virtual Live Events You Don’t Want to Miss

Next Live Virtual Class

A Mental Health Hour That Matters

Head Up x BEAUTISTA: Presence = Peace

Nov 18 • 12PM ET**

Mental health is one of those things that can feel like “extra” — like fluff we’ll get to later. But every time we host one of these sessions, my phone lights up afterward with texts that say:

“I needed that more than you know.” “Thank you for this.” “Please keep doing these.”

One hour… and people breathe differently for the rest of the week. That’s why this next session means so much to us. And it’s with our friend DMJ, who always brings heart, wisdom, and zero fluff. This time of year can feel chaotic — holidays, family dynamics, comparison, the pressure to “show up” online, and the emotional load beauty pros carry without even realizing it.

This class is a reset button.

In this session, your team will learn how to:

  • Stay grounded and emotionally balanced when life (or social media) feels loud

  • Have compassion while managing family, client, and follower expectations

  • Reconnect with social media as a tool for growth — not stress

  • Restore their energy so they can show up with presence, purpose, and peace

If you’re a business or school leader — bring your whole team. Taking one hour for mental wellness sends a powerful message: We care. We listen. We lead with humanity. It’s one of the strongest culture-building moves you can make.

🌿 Join us → Presence = Peace

Your future self (and your team) will thank you.

🔦 BEAUTISTA Spotlight

Katelyn Cornelius (Kate)

Aveda Fredric’s Institute — Indianapolis, IN

Graduating: February 2026 • Cosmo

Some people enter this industry with a plan. Others enter with a story — and Kate is pure story.

Kate is one of those souls who carries both grit and softness at the exact same time. A mom. A wife. An animal lover. A former bartender and general manager who could hold a room with her confidence long before she ever held a color brush. She’s lived a lot of life — and instead of letting any chapter define her, she used each one to build the courage to reinvent herself at 30 and chase the dream she always felt pulling at her. And you can feel all of that in her work.

Her portfolio has that rare mix of artistry and heart — vibrant vivids, soft bridal styling, lived-in color, balayage, makeup that feels effortless, and a presence behind the chair that makes people feel seen. Her retention speaks for itself: 100% new client retention. 90% repeat retention. 100% productivity. That doesn’t happen by accident. That happens when someone loves people as much as they love the craft.

What stands out most about Kate is her authenticity. She isn’t trying to be “perfect.” She’s building a life, a career, and a craft that feel aligned. She’s proof that it’s never too late to start over… and that sometimes the best talent in this industry is found in the people who’ve lived enough life to bring real empathy, connection, and resilience to the chair.

If you’re a salon in the Indianapolis/Carmel area looking for someone who can grow, connect, and elevate your culture — keep your eyes on Kate. She’s exactly the kind of artist who becomes a cornerstone of a team.

💡 BEAUTISTA Tips & Tricks

💡 BEAUTISTA Tips & Tricks

The QR Code That Turns Inspiration Into Action

One of the most powerful moments in beauty happens inside schools — when students are lit up, motivated, and imagining what’s possible for their future. And that moment has a very short shelf life. They’re inspired right then. Not an hour later. Not when they get home. Not after they dig through their phone to find your Instagram or website.

That’s where your BEAUTISTA QR code becomes magic. When you’re in a classroom, at a career fair, speaking to a group, or even chatting one-on-one with a student who’s clearly excited… give them the fastest path to take action while the motivation is fresh.

Your QR code does exactly that.

It lets them:

✨ Scan

✨ See your opportunity instantly

✨ Apply with their portfolio in under 60 seconds

✨ Take a real step toward their career — while the inspiration is still alive

No friction. No “I’ll look it up later.” No lost momentum. This is how you turn “That sounds amazing” into “I just applied.”

If you’re visiting schools this month, print your BEAUTISTA QR code on:

– Your signage

– Handouts

– Your phone screen

– A card you can pass around

– Even a mirror cling or small mini-poster for the classroom

The goal is simple:Meet their excitement with an action step they can take immediately. Because when students are inspired, they don’t need a pitch. They just need a clear way forward — and that little square gives it to them. Your QR code is already waiting inside your BEAUTISTA account. Bring it with you to your next school visit and watch the energy turn into applicants.

Are you a school who wants to wow your local businesses with a career fair that actually works —the kind that delivers action, applications, and real placement momentum?👉 Reach out to Jeneanne. She’ll walk you through how to elevate your next event.

Are you a business who wants a results-driven, inspired strategy the next time you visit a school — so you leave with actual applicants, not just conversations?
